Based on these values, Jogja Disability Arts took the initiative to give awards to heroes of inclusion, both in Indonesia and abroad. This award is named the Samatha Initiative Award, which in Sanskrit means equality. The Samatha Initiative Award is not just recognition; he symbolizes boundless dedication and courage in moving towards an inclusive society. Here, every individual, regardless of background, has the same rights and opportunities.

This award is divided into several categories that reflect various contributions to the world of disability. The first category is Policy Advocate, given to individuals or institutions who persistently strive to create inclusive policies that support a decent life for all people, especially those with disabilities. They are not just speakers of change; they are pioneers in formulating policies that guarantee recognition and respect for disability rights.
The next category is Production of Knowledge or Educator, given to those who are dedicated to increasing society’s understanding of disabilities. They create inclusive learning spaces, open doors for understanding and empathy, forming a generation that is fully aware of the importance of inclusion in everyday life.

Awards were also given in the Grassroot Networker and Activist categories. Individuals or groups who receive this award are those who are dedicated to building strong networks at the local level, creating real change in their communities.
